Dust free cat litter

How do you choose dust-free cat litters ?

● Clay litter

Clay is used in cat litters because of its ability to absorb liquid. It won't be able to clump up, but we have the other kind of clay litter known as bentonite, it will become clumps after absorbing wet. And some of manufacture made them 99.9% dust free.

● Pellet litter

Pellet litter won't clump up and it can absorb more than clay litter does. And also, it can reduce litter track problem and it's 100% dust free.

Silica Gel Crystal Litter

Crystallized cat litters are formed from a silica gel. This gel is absorbent and also provides odor control. It tends to produce less dust.

Biodegradable Cat Litter

Biodegradable cat litters may be made from recycled paper products or plant-derived materials such as pine, wheat, corn, beet pulp, and soybean. Because these products are biodegradable, they do not clutter landfills.

Why do you need dust free cat litter?

1. It's better for people with allergies

2. It's kinder to your cat's lung

3. It's cleaner

About the author

Yoyo the Cat

I'm a 3 years old siamese-tabby mixed female cat. When I was 8-week old, I was found under the mailbox. A lady brought me to her house, and fed me with a meal. I was pretty thankful, I felt the love from human. So I decided to share my life and encourage other cats.

  1. Hello there, I must say a big thank you to you for putting out time to write this awesome article, Overtime I have been getting cat litters for my cats for some years but I had to stop because of the dust as even the once that they said are dust free they still end up having dust but with this details you have given I would give some of the products a try and see.

    1. Hi,
You’re welcome! Cat litter dust is pretty annoying and also bad for our bronchus. Before my mom tried Dr. Elsey’s, I had to hold my breath every time when she changed the litters. Don’t hesitate to give it a try!

  2. I will go for the arm and hammer clump and seal litter. I like the fact that it contains some plants derived particles. And the baking soda indie helps a lot. I like everything made with natural components because they are more healthy for us and our pets.

I know that cats like scratching everything, so I completely understand when you say that a cat can scratch this litter and the smell will be bad. But I am sure that with some training you can educate your cat to behave and not scratch the litter.

    1. Hi,
That’s a great choice. Since Arm and Hammer is a household task leader, their formula works quite well.
Thanks for your advice! I may need more scratchboard to sharpen my nails, so that I don’t scratch the litter or anything else.

  3. Having a cat has been so much joy for me and so far she has been a very wonderful pet and I’m happy about it. Having a litter for her haven’t been some of my strong points because they always end up being just another bad one and a waste of money. Seeing these suggestions here, I am hopeful and I so much like Dr. Elsey’s Premium Clumping Cat Litter

  4. Cat litters are what people with allergies should try out in order to avoid sneezing or being separated with their pets. And this article has explained the different kind of cat litters that one may want to consider. The clay litter is 99% dust free, pellet litter is 100% dust free, Silica Gel Crystal Litter, this help to control of odor and several of them. Having known what all these are, I would refer this to cat owners that are allergic to cats, thank you.

  5. Omg I didn’t know that there are different types of cat litters, Yoyo!

I’ve been using the pine-type cat litter but lately I’m feeling like trying another type instead because my cat seems to have this habit of pooping, and then slide it’s butt across the floor tile right after coming out from the litter box. I’m not sure why but maybe it needs a different type of cat litter, what type would you recommend my cat?
